Why am I getting a "Too much inventory" error message?

"Too much inventory" error message explained

Why You're Seeing the "Too Much Inventory" Error on Amazon

The reason you're receiving the "Too Much Inventory for this ASIN in Fulfillment Centers" error message when creating a shipment is due to Amazon reintroducing Restock Limits on a per-ASIN basis—similar to the restrictions implemented during the 2020–2021 pandemic.

Although there hasn’t been a formal announcement, many sellers began encountering shipment blocks as early as April 2025. These limits are not based on the inventory in your individual account, but rather on the total inventory for that ASIN across all Amazon sellers.

Typically, Amazon is capping inventory to approximately 90 days of supply per ASIN, which may prevent you from sending in new units even if your personal inventory levels are low.
