Question 1

How do I get the Packing List

Accepted Answer

Subject: Clarification on Packing Lists

There are two types of packing lists relevant to your shipments:

Incoming Shipment to SKUdrop:
When you create an incoming shipment in your SKUdrop account, a packing list is automatically generated and sent to you via email upon completion of the incoming shipment setup.
Outbound Shipments (e.g., to Amazon or Other Destinations):
SKUdrop does not generate or provide packing lists for outbound shipments. This is because SKUdrop consolidates multiple shipments into containers making it impractical to issue a standard packing list for each outbound order. Therefore, packing lists are only provided for inbound shipments into SKUdrop’s warehouse.

If you need to provide a packing slip to Amazon or another party (for example, for a claim related to lost products), it's recommended to use the invoice for your specific shipment. This invoice includes all the necessary details that Amazon typically requires.

Here's how you can download your invoice:

Log in to your SKUdrop account.
Go to Settings > Billing.
Locate the relevant shipment.
Click Download—the file will be in PDF format.

Question 2

Overweight Carton

Accepted Answer

Do I need to pay if my cartons are overweight?

Important Notice: UPS/FedEx Carton Weight & Size Limits

If your carton exceeds the UPS/FedEx weight limit of 22kg, a $22 surcharge per carton will be applied. During the listing process in your SKUdrop Dashboard, a yellow triangle warning icon (see image example) will appear if the weight entered triggers this surcharge.

📦 How to Avoid the Surcharge:

We recommend reducing the weight per carton to 21kg or less
This can often be done by reducing the units per carton (e.g., from 12 to 10)

SKUdrop offers a carton repacking service for a small fee, which is significantly less than the surcharge you'd incur from UPS or FedEx. If you're interested, let us know and we’ll provide you with a quote.

📏 Carton Size Limit:

The maximum size allowed is 266cm, but we strongly recommend limiting to 260cm to avoid risk of carton blowout
How to calculate oversize:

Add the two shortest sides, multiply that by 2, then add the longest side
Example: (58.5 + 47) × 2 = 211 → 211 + 61 = 272cm (oversized)

Question 3

How long is a Commodity Inspection Certificate (CIC) valid in china?

Accepted Answer

In China, the validity period of a Commodity Inspection Certificate (CIC)

In China, the validity period of a Commodity Inspection Certificate (CIC) is generally:

✅ 30 days from the date of issuance

This is the standard validity period unless otherwise specified. It is commonly enforced by:

Chinese Customs
Inspection authorities (such as CIQ or GACC)
Freight forwarders and shipping agents

🔁 Key Notes:

A CIC is shipment-specific and not reusable for other or future shipments.
If the goods are not exported within 30 days, a new inspection and CIC may be required, this needs to be done at the Suppliers warehouse/factory.
For certain perishable or sensitive goods, the effective period could be even shorter, depending on:
Product type
Storage conditions
Risk classification

⛔ Important:

If the export declaration or customs clearance is delayed beyond the certificate’s validity, it may result in:
Customs rejection
Re-inspection fees
Shipment delays
Please note:
If a new Commodity Inspection Certificate (CIC) is required, the products will need to be returned to the supplier’s location so that a re-inspection can be conducted and a new CIC issued.

Unfortunately, a CIC cannot be reissued remotely or at a third-party location — it must be done at the original inspection point, typically the supplier’s warehouse.

Question 5

What does it mean when you say shipping by truck?

Accepted Answer

What is the difference between using UPS/FedEx and Truck for the last leg delivery

We usually offer two last-leg delivery options: UPS/FedEx and Truck. Occasionally, there may also be a combination of both.

UPS/FedEx is typically the more expensive option but can deliver to all Amazon FBA warehouses across the US. They also provide detailed tracking via their websites, and we will upload the tracking number to your shipping plan in your Amazon account.

Truck is a more cost-effective option but comes with some limitations. It requires a minimum order quantity (MOQ) and does not service all Amazon FBA warehouses. Additionally, Truck shipments do not offer tracking on an external website. Instead, we upload the SKUdrop SKOS number to your Amazon account to meet Amazon's tracking requirements.

Regardless of the last-leg option, all your US shipments can be tracked from China to the Amazon FBA warehouse via the "Track Shipments" section in your SKUdrop account. This includes both UPS/FedEx and Truck deliveries for the full shipping journey.

Question 6

Can I update my product Name on SKUdrop and will it affect the shipments?

Accepted Answer

Will updating my product name cause any issues when sending to Amazon

The Product Name displayed in your SKUdrop account is primarily for your reference and to help the SKUdrop team identify the product if needed.

This name is pulled from your Amazon account during the “Add Products or Brands” process. You are free to update or edit the name in your SKUdrop account if you wish—doing so will not affect any of the SKUdrop processes.
