Understanding the Commercial Invoice and Its Role in Your Shipment
The Commercial Invoice is a key document used to determine the total per unit cost of your product(s). This value is used to calculate U.S. Duties and Tariffs, based on the HS Code you’ve provided.
📄 What to Include:
- Description of goods
- Quantity
- Per unit price
- Total value (excluding shipping)
- Terms of sale (e.g., FOB, CIF)
- Seller and buyer names and addresses
🔁 If you have multiple supplier invoices for the same product, you can scan them into one document and upload that single file.
⚠️ Important:
The total product cost (excluding shipping) on your commercial invoice should match the per unit price you entered in the “Supplier Unit Price” field when creating your incoming shipment.
This document is essential for customs clearance and ensures that your shipment complies with international trade regulations.
