150 Units per Carton Limit for Case-Packed Shipments

Why Amazon Limits Case-Packed Cartons to 150 Units

SKUdrop uses Amazon's Case Packed option when shipping to FBA warehouses.

Amazon enforces a maximum of 150 units per carton for Case-Packed shipments to support safe, efficient, and consistent fulfillment center operations.

This limit exists to:

  • Protect worker safety – Cartons with more than 150 units often exceed safe manual handling weights, increasing injury risk.
  • Improve receiving efficiency – Standardised carton sizes move faster through Amazon’s automated and manual receiving systems.
  • Reduce damage risk – Overpacked cartons are more likely to tear, collapse, or damage units during transit and handling.
  • Optimise storage and slotting – Predictable carton sizes allow Amazon to efficiently plan shelf, bin, and pallet space.
  • Minimise exceptions and delays – Oversized or overweight cartons frequently trigger manual handling, delays, or rejections.

Unless Amazon has explicitly approved an exception for a specific ASIN, each case-packed carton should contain no more than 150 identical units of the same SKU.

Adhering to this limit helps ensure shipments are accepted without delays, chargebacks, or rework.
